Birthday Wishes for PM Modi: How Narendra Modi is Fulfilling a Billion Dreams
People usually pen birthday wishes for their favourite film stars or sports icons, but I felt like penning a birthday wish for the man who perhaps has the single-biggest contribution in changing Bharat’s destiny. Narendra Damodardas Modi, a former chai wala who was born to a humble family in a small town in Gujarat, went on to win the confidence of a billion Bharatiya people and became the 14th Prime Minister of Bharat. On the eve of his 73rd birthday, here is a look at how he is bringing the dreams of 1.4 billion Bharat waasis to life and his vision towards a developed Bharat.
The gamechanger of Bharatians politics
Everybody talks about Narendra Modi’s rapid decision-making and implementation of policies, but we must remember that it has only been possible because he has not only brought political stability but also political strength to the nation. Modi runs a strong government at the centre, unlike many of his predecessors who needed alliance partners to form a government. And even if they managed to form a government, they had to confer with their alliance partners for every major or minor decision to ensure that they did not withdraw their political support. However, Modi – led BJP has held a majority in Lok Sabha in both his terms, allowing the centre to enforce major decisions without any delay.
Narendra Modi himself led the charge of the 2014 and 2019 election campaigns, and his terms boast of massive achievements like the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, rebuilding of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and transforming the defence sector to name a few. A stable government is thus necessary to provide good governance, and Narendra Modi has given Bharat just that.
Taking Bharat to new heights
The recent historic G20 Summit in New Delhi was Bharat’s message to the world – we have arrived. We are being seen as a highly influential nation that can help resolve wars and conflicts around the world. Many countries are today putting their faith in the our currency and are willing to trade in it instead of the dollar. Once the biggest defence exporter, Bharat is rapidly turning into one of the biggest defence exporters on earth under Modi. Defence systems like fighter jets, ballistic missiles, warships, aircraft carriers, submarines, and other arms and ammunition which have been developed by Bharatians are being sold to multiple nations today.
Technology leaders like Japan are marvelling at Bharat’s UPI system and are highly interested in implementing it in their own country. Bharat is today competing with superpowers in the space sector as well. ISRO’s incredible success in the Chandrayaan-3 was discussed by some of the most known experts and commentators. The brilliant minds that made all these achievements possible existed even before 2014, so how did we start tapping into our potential only in the last few years? It is because we have a strong and supportive leadership at the Centre.
Narendra Modi has been aggressively pushing for these developments ever since he took over the PMO in 2014. His pragmatic leadership and strong determination to take Bharat to new heights triggered professionals from all fields to outperform themselves. We can see an air of optimism in all fields of the country, which was earlier defeated by an era of overwhelming corruption, reluctant decision-making, and compromised individuals who held influential positions. However, the Modi era has changed the course of Bharat’s history.
Redefining Bharat’s image and place in world order
There was a time when the world viewed us as nothing but a land of the poor where people died from starvation. During centuries of colonial and foreign rule, Bharat was subjugated to relentless loot and genocide. Even after independence, we spent decades fighting economic instability where another line of generations lived their lives in poverty. From that, Bharat has bolstered its economic performance and has now risen to become the fifth-largest economy in the world from the tenth position after 2014; and it further aims to become the third-largest in a few years.
Until a decade ago, Bharat was considered to be a harmless nation that would never retaliate no matter how much anyone harmed its people. We witnessed endless violence unleashed on us by China-backed Pakistan, be it 26/11, the violence in Kashmir, or the endless terror attacks that took the lives of innocent citizens. However, Narendra Modi made it abundantly clear from his early years in power that no act of aggression would be tolerated by Bharat. We hit back Pakistan first in 2016 with the surgical strike, and then later in 2019 with the air strikes in Balakot, Pakistan. The message to the world was clear – Bharat will respond to every slap in the face with a punch to the gut.
Modi also put his focus on our real threat – China. Western countries had invested heavily in China in the 90s, helping it become an economic superpower. Today, the same China is bullying them with its expansionist policies. It unleashed an entire pandemic on the world with zero accountability; instead, it criticised the Western nations’ policies and even poked fun at the high number of death cases in Bharat during the second Covid wave. Modi wasted no time in taking advantage of China’s obnoxious behaviour and reached out to several countries to pull their investments away from China towards Bharat, promising that Bharat would follow transparent supply chain policies that could be trusted by one and all.
Modi is thus turning the tides in Bharat’s favour whose results will be visible by the end of this decade. He will most likely return to power in 2024 and continue steering Bharat’s inevitable take-off towards glory.
On the eve of Narendra Modi’s 73rd birthday, I would like to dedicate my humble birthday wish to him. The blessings of 1.4 billion Bharatiya people are with our Prime Minister as he leads our nation in scaling new peaks of the 21st Century.
